FACILITY
Our facility was designed by Walters-Storyk Design Group (WSDG) – the architects of Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady studios and Bob Ludwig’s Gateway Mastering; along with studios for other superstars like Jay-Z, Bob Marley, Alicia Keys, and Bruce Springsteen.
WSDG used the latest in acoustic modeling technology to create an ideal room-within-a-room design with the highest fidelity. We then carefully supervised the construction process to make sure that every detail was perfect. There were many challenges to getting it right: no parallel surfaces, lots of curved walls, and the ceiling, walls, and ducting are all suspended from springs. Through lots of triple-checking, we were able to achieve an airtight room with every dimension accurate to within 1/16 of an inch. The result is a highly-tuned environment of frequency balance and phase coherency allowing the music to appear to hover in the air in front of you.
It took all of this start-of-the-art technology and obsession with detail to bring you the most accurate listening environment in Chicago. You will hear details in your own music that you have never heard before, with a clarity that makes it easy to make decisions in order to find the perfect settings for your music.
The Boiler Room is located in downtown Chicago in the lively neighborhood of Wicker Park/Bucktown. We have a full kitchen and lounge with lots of options for food delivery. Free street parking is available along Western Avenue.
